Advertising: Best left to the Professionals

People often share a good joke about advertising professionals. They joke that a trained monkey could do this work, yet they still hire us to do it. They have a Mad Men inspired view of advertising agencies, where we’re all whiskey drinking, womanizing, drug abusing gits who are always scheming to convince people to buy ‘crap’ they don’t need. Ok, that’s only partly true, but what’s completely untrue is the notion that anyone could do this work, and do it well. And so it seems the blokes at Top Gear took it upon themselves to create a commercial for the Volkswagen Scirocco Diesel. The results are hilarious, to say the least, and definitely not endorsed by Volkswagen.


Addendum:

Seems that in their latest ad campaign, the folks at Hyundai are having a go at the lads of Top Gear, including The Stig. Wonder how they’ll answer….
